Challenge

The goal was to design a podcast cover for Keep the Lines Open, a 35-minute narrative and musical audio project. The initial vision included a kaleidoscopic, swirling figure resembling the creator, with bold pinks, blues, and purples. As the project evolved, the design needed to incorporate story details—like taxidermy animals and breakfast spreads—while highlighting Billy Crudup’s name as a key selling point.

Transformation

The design evolved through multiple iterations, from kaleidoscopic imagery to surreal concepts like a woman with beams from her eyes and a melting eye swirl. The final version featured a striking open-faced figure with vibrant purples and blues, combining surrealism with clean storytelling elements. Details like mushrooms, taxidermy animals, and breakfast imagery tied back to the narrative, while Billy Crudup’s name was prominently displayed to boost visibility.
